My Grammy Baby Shower Thank You Cards!

Good Morning All. I want to start out my post with a Happy 1st Anniversary in Heaven to my Dad. I miss my Dad so much. To think back to a year ago when we spent a whole week, my Dad's last week on this earth, at a hospital over 4 hours away from home and what he went through breaks my heart. But I know he is in a much better place and he has helped me so much this past year. I talk to him very often and when I need help with something, he comes through for me. I know today will be hard for my Mom but she has done so well. Thank goodness for her neighbors at the apartment complex she lives in. They all hang out together quite often. I am again going to remind readers that smoke, to please consider giving it up. Especially if you are young. My Dad was a smoker and a auto/diesel mechanic on top of that, so he had two strikes against him for the terrible disease of COPD.

A few weeks ago, something really cute happened to me. Well, first of all, I need to mention that I am going to be a Grammy to baby #2 in March. I can't wait for baby Kylee to arrive. If my daughter Jessica doesn't go into labor by March 19th, due to the size of the baby, she is going to be induced. So what happened to me was that I was in the middle of teaching for one of my monthly clubs and the girls interrupted my class with a Grammy Shower!

I guess these type of shower's have been around for quite some time but I had never heard of them...where have I been huh? Five of my club members gifted me with baby clothing, baby toys and books. Vicki had to leave for work so she didn't get in on our group photo below:

Present in the photo are Cyndee Randall and Gloria Powers in the front and Cynthia Milton, myself and Deb LaRosa in the back. Vicki Hagerman missing. The gifts were all so neat and thoughtful:

And these are the cards I received:

So now it was my turn to send out cards. A thank you card for each one of them for this special surprise they popped on me. I used the Moon Baby stamp set and colored with my Blends Markers:

I kept them simple with lots of white space. This image is perfect all in itself with the sentiment and a few stars added in the mix:

It didn't take me long to color as the Blends color so nicely. I even added some blue around the outside edges of the image and used the Color Lifter to soften the edges:

Thanks so much girls, I so appreciated all of the gifts and goodies we got to snack on and yes, it was a total surprise!

Sara's Cupcake Box with Bubbles & Fizz!

Today's inspiration for my project comes to you from our very own Sara Douglass, Stampin' Up! CEO. Sara has a very active Facebook page and periodically does live video's showing different projects and other types of videos. If you are on Facebook, you need to "like" her page so you can see what she's up to.

I used our pretty Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper called Bubbles & Fizz, which you can earn for FREE until March 31st. After that, the designer paper will be gone! One thing I like about this designer paper is that it coordinates with our Bubble Over stamp set and the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits Dies. Look how cute this suite looks on my project today:

Did you notice the bow on the top of my Cupcake Box? I created the bow using the Tailored Tag Punch. I actually showed everyone how to make this bow in a Live Facebook Page a few weeks ago:

The bottom of the Cupcake Box is the Mini Pizza Box which is actually not glued to the topper so you can pop off the top to get to the cupcake:

And a hole was cut through the Mini Pizza Box lid using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. Isn't that the neatest?

You can see the Mini Pizza Box peeking through the topper in this last photo:

And here is a listing of all the Stampin' Up! products I used for my Cupcake Box:

Control Freaks February Blog Hop!

Good evening everyone and welcome to our February Control Freaks Blog Hop. This month we are all celebrating "Birthdays". If you arrived here from Wendy Weixler's blog, didn't her projects just make you want to have a birthday? If you are starting with me first, either way, I will direct you to the next stop at the end of my post.

I have two projects celebrating birthday's today. One is more appropriate for females and the other is for that guy in your life. Let's start  with my female birthday card:

The stamp set I used is the Cake Soiree set and I started out using Real Red Ink and Cardstock combined with Powder Pink and then threw in an offsetting color of Lemon Lime Twist. I love how these three colors look together. Don't you?

I also stamped the flowers from the gift image using VersaMark Ink on Real Red Cardstock, sprinkled White Embossing Powder and used my Heat Tool. See how I used the little heart so that I would end up with flowers over the whole heart?

These are all of the layers I used on my card:
  • Layer #1: Real Red Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score and fold at 5-1/2".
  • Layer #2: Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4".
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4".
  • The rest of the layers are stamped and cut with the dies and stamp set.
Stampin' Up! products used:
  • Stamps: Cake Soiree
  • Inks: VersaMark, Real Red
  • Cardstock: Real Red, Powder Pink, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Tutti-Fruiti Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  • Tools: Sweet Cake Framelits Dies, Blender Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Card #2 is my Masculine Card:

I used quite a few products from our True Gentlemen Suite of products. Those products include:
  • Truly Tailored stamp set
  • True Gentleman Designer Paper
  • True Gentleman Buttons
  • Night of Navy Corduroy Ribbon

What a great way to use these products combined with a layer of Embossing Paste that was colored with our Brusho Crystal Colours...fun, fun!

Stampin' Up! products used:

  • Inks: Brusho Crystal Colours, Tranquil Tide

Merry Monday Challenge 278!

Yay, it's my turn to host the challenge this week at Merry Monday Challenge. I picked this beautiful inspiration photo that you can study and choose whatever inspires you. I chose many things in the photo such as the staircase, the tree, the puppy and the red bows:

This card has a lot of layers and a lot time went into all the details but it was so much fun seeing it all come together the way it did. Does the puppy look like he is ready for Christmas because that's the name of the stamp set I used, Ready For Christmas!

I added so many tiny red bows and sparkly centers in the center of each ornament:

Thanks so much for stopping by to see my today. Make sure you go take the tour of all the cards from my fabulous teammates at Merry Monday Challenge!

Create with Connie & Mary Saturday Blog Hop!

We are all celebrating birthdays today! Welcome to a Saturday Blog Hop at Create with Connie & Mary. I used the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set for today's card. The bow image was so perfect to use for my background layer:

And I stamped the sentiment on a vertical oval shape cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. I snipped off a portion of the oval on the left and glue it to the edge of my background layer with Stampin' Dimensionals:

To complete my card, I added a few Metallics Enamel Shapes on the background and then wrapped the gold tinsel from the Love Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack. The gold is so shiny in person and add's the perfect flair for a birthday card. Here are the measurements for the layers I used:
  • Card Base: Rich Razzleberry Cardstock 11" x 4-1/4". Score at 5-1/2" and fold.
  • Layer #2: Tempting Turquoise 5-1/4" x 4".
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 5" x 3-3/4".
  • Layer #4: Whisper White Cardstock cut with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

Stampin' Up! products used:
  • Stamps: Picture Perfect Birthday
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Sky
  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
  • Accessories: Metallics Enamel Shapes, Mini Tinsel Trim Combo Pack

And this brochure was the 1st release which you can still earn from:

Today's project uses Brusho Crystal Colour as a background on my card. I had this extra completed background sitting on my counter after doing a YouTube video so I thought I would use it on my card for today:

I had used three Brusho colors on my background and since some of the orange was screaming fruit to me, I added a few slices from the Lemon Zest stamp set. I stamped and cut two of the fruit by using Tangerine Tango Ink and turned them into orange slices. I cut one slice in half and layered all three together in a cluster. I also added some Vellum and Chocolate Chip Cardstock leaves that I cut out with the Leaf Punch:
